Also, tribute was paid and flowers were laid by the dismissed Deputy Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality Hamdija Fejzić, Vice President of the Federation of BiH Igor Stojanović, and Mayor of Sarajevo Benjamina Karić.
- I am here today as a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to send a clear message that we will walk freely and with dignity on every inch of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was like that, it is like that, and it will remain so. Potočari and Srebrenica, like every part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are on its state territory, and no separatist policy will or can change that fact - said Bećirović.
Reflecting on the commemoration of January 9th in Banja Luka, Bećirović recalled that the constitutional and legal facts are clear on this issue.
- The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has made final and binding decisions. They must be fully respected, and there is no discussion about it. It is an unconstitutional day, and competent judicial institutions and agencies should react to its illegal commemoration - Bećirović stated.
The Mothers of Srebrenica perceive this day exclusively as a day of mourning, because with January ninth, 1992, everything that led to the aggression and crimes began.
- On January ninth, the decision was made that we have this cemetery, that we have our martyrs, that we do not have our sons, nor husbands, and that many mothers live alone. It was a Greater Serbia project, albeit supported by the world and Europe. If the world and Europe had learned anything, Ukraine, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, and many other countries would not be burning today - said the president of the Association "Movement of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves" Munira Subašić.
Present representatives of BiH politics and victims' associations thus reminded that on January 9, 1992, a plan was created on which numerous war crimes were committed, including ethnic cleansing and genocide in Srebrenica.
