Victims' associations: It seems the OHR is solely responsible for the monument on Vlašić, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office for 'Dobrovoljačka'

(Patria) - The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association of the Movement of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves warn that the implementation of decisions from the recently held "all-Serbian world" assembly has already begun in the RS entity.

"After the RS Pedagogical Institute published a new curriculum, based on which the so-called Homeland War will be studied in the eighth and ninth grades of primary school, in which war criminals Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić are presented as positive figures, they have practically started implementing the decisions from the recently held 'all-Serbian world' forum.

We expected that the competent authorities in our country, primarily the Office of the High Representative (OHR) - as the undisputed authority with endless powers, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office - as the sole authority for respecting the Criminal Code of BiH, would respond adequately and make it clear that such a bestial violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and BiH laws will not be tolerated," stated these associations.

However, they add, the OHR stated that "all those who believe that parts of the curricula are in contradiction with the existing legal framework should raise the issue before the relevant judicial bodies," and the BiH Prosecutor's Office stated that it is a "judicial institution and does not have jurisdiction to intervene in the curricula of the competent ministries of science or education".

"Therefore, those who are competent are asking citizens to do their job. Based on all of the above, it appears that the OHR is solely responsible for the monument on Vlašić, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office for the 'Dobrovoljačka' case. Everything else, and there is a lot of that, clearly does not interest either the OHR or the Prosecutor's Office.

We demand that the OHR and the High Representative, as well as the BiH Prosecutor's Office, immediately stop the destruction of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as well as the obvious violation of BiH laws," emphasize the victims' associations.
