Thousands of students from Bosnia and Herzegovina go on school excursions to neighboring or more distant countries every year, without having explored the beauty of their own country, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
Many cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have cultural heritage as valuable as many cities in European countries, and they do not lag behind in recreational offerings either.
Thus, rafting down the Neretva River in Herzegovina or night rafting down the Una in Krajina is a unique experience that cannot be experienced in other parts of the world.
Experts warn that local communities must start promoting their tourist offer to domestic tourists, primarily the younger generations, which will begin to bring multiple benefits in a few years.
The Director of the Agency for Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of the City of Jajce, Huso Hadžić, explains for the Patria agency that Jajce will try to attract as many high school and university students from BiH as possible from this year, because Jajce is a city where one can learn a lot about the history of BiH, and the city also offers a beautiful recreational experience.
- We offer students a four-day stay in the royal city. On the first and second day, guests visit the cultural-historical core of the city. They visit the catacombs, the Church of St. Mary, the City Gallery, the tomb of the last Bosnian king, one of the largest shrines in this part of Europe, the shrine of St. John the Baptist, the Esma Sultanija Mosque, Omer-beg's House, the medieval fortress in Vinac...
The third day of the stay in Jajce is planned for rest and recreation at the Pliva Lakes, boat trips, and a visit to one of the most beautiful springs in BiH, the Pliva spring, and the Janjski Otoci.
On the last day, we take our guests to Banja Luka, where, in cooperation with local tour guides, we visit the beauties of Banja Luka – says Hadžić.
Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina can represent a significant economic branch in the country. BiH is visited by an increasing number of foreign tourists every year, writes NAP.
