Students from BiH won five bronze medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina shone again at the International Mathematical Olympiad 2020.

This year, students from our country won five bronze medals. 

As written on Twitter by Franjo Šarčević, an assistant at the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Sarajevo and editor of the portal Prometej.ba, all competitors from BiH regularly attend the School of Mathematics, organized by

the Association of Mathematicians of Sarajevo Canton. 

Boris Stanković, Dejan Stanković, Faik Tahirović, Marko Vučić, and Jovan Vuković won bronze medals.

Marko Jojić received an honorable mention.

In the total sum of points of its representatives, BiH took 56th place this year. The top 10 positions are occupied by: China, Russia, USA, South Korea, Thailand, Italy, Poland, Australia, United Kingdom, and Brazil.

Serbia is in 25th place, and Croatia reached 32nd position.

Our mathematicians collectively left behind: Estonia, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Finland, South Africa, Austria, Azerbaijan, Ireland...
