Cornerstone laid for construction of military mosque of AFBiH in Ustikolina

(Patria) - Minister of Defence of BiH Zukan Helez attended today the ceremony of laying the cornerstone for the construction of a military mosque in the "Kosova" barracks of the Armed Forces of BiH in Ustikolina, marking the official start of this significant project.

In his opening address, Helez expressed satisfaction at attending the laying of the cornerstone for the construction of a military mosque in the "Kosova" barracks in Ustikolina, a project of special significance for members of the Armed Forces of BiH.

The construction of this mosque represents a response to the real needs of members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina who serve in this barracks.

The future facility will enable them to perform their religious duties and obligations in a suitable and dignified space.

Special value is given to this project by the fact that it is being realised thanks to unity, solidarity and goodwill.

Members of the Armed Forces and employees of the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina have made a significant contribution to its realisation through their voluntary contributions and donations.

In doing so, they have once again shown that through joint efforts we can achieve goals that have lasting value for our institutions, but also for the people who serve them and build their reputation.

- I am pleased by the fact that the idea of building a military mosque, present for many years, is being realised precisely during the mandate in which I serve as Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This fills me with a sense of pride, but also additional responsibility to continue working on creating the best possible conditions for the life and work of all members of the Armed Forces of BiH - said Helez.

He emphasised that the Ministry of Defence of BiH takes care of the needs of all members of the Armed Forces of BiH, including their religious needs and spiritual life.

Helez added that enabling conditions for the exercise of religious rights is considered an important segment of care for people who honourably and responsibly serve their homeland.

At the same time, special attention is paid to the development and support of returnee communities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, because stability, equal development and preservation of life in those areas are important for the entire society.

- Thank you to everyone who supported this project - from its initiators to all donors and participants who, through their engagement, contributed to us witnessing the start of its realisation today.

I believe that this mosque will, in the years to come, serve generations of members of the Armed Forces of BiH as a place of prayer, spiritual strengthening, mutual respect and unity - concluded Helez.
