Day of Mourning in USK Due to Tragedy in Sanski Most

(Patria) - The Government of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) has adopted a Decision declaring Friday, August 23, as a Day of Mourning throughout the entire canton.

A commemoration for the victims of the tragic event in Sanski Most, in which three employees of the Sanski Most Gymnasium lost their lives, will be held today.

The USK Government's decision states that the Day of Mourning will be marked by the mandatory flying of the BiH flag at half-mast on all buildings housing cantonal authorities and local self-government units.

Flags will also be lowered to half-mast on buildings that are the headquarters or where legal entities conduct their activities, as well as on premises where individuals perform independent activities.

At yesterday's session of the Sanski Most Municipal Council collegium, a decision was made to declare three days of mourning due to the tragic event that occurred on Wednesday at the Sanski Most Gymnasium.

It was also decided that a commemorative session will be held today at 11:00 AM in memory of the murdered Nijaz Halilović, Nisveta Kljunić, and Gordana Midžan.

On the Day of Mourning, according to the Government's decision, entertainment events will not be allowed, and legal entities engaged in TV and radio broadcasting are obliged to adjust their programs in a manner befitting the solemnity of the day. This includes broadcasting content that reflects the character of the Day of Mourning.

This tragic event has left a deep mark on both the local community of Sanski Most and the entire USK, and the Day of Mourning will be an opportunity to pay respects and express sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as for the entire canton to remember those who lost their lives in such a tragic way.
