Pensioners protest in Tuzla over low incomes

(Patria) - About a hundred pensioners gathered today in Tuzla to draw attention to the difficult situation they are in. Through a protest march, they are telling the authorities that pensions are not enough even for basic expenses, demanding their increase.

One of the demands is an amendment to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, which would enable regular and extraordinary increases in pensions during this year.

The key demand is the adjustment of average pensions to the level of 52 percent of the average salary, with a regular quarterly increase. The protests come amid rising prices and growing dissatisfaction among the elderly population.

These are regular protests that they hold every month.
