Federal Civil Protection Headquarters Session Underway

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The orders issued by the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters on April 24, which eased certain measures and completely lifted the curfew, are in effect until April 30. Since then, there have been no new easing or prohibition measures, and a session of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters is underway, with the expectation of issuing orders based on the recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health due to the epidemiological situation and the upcoming holiday.

As announced today, it has been recommended to prohibit movement for those over 65 and under 18 during the extended weekend (May 1, 2, and 3), and to prohibit movement for all citizens after 8 PM. Furthermore, it is recommended that retail and wholesale stores, craft businesses, law offices, and notary offices begin operating by the middle of next week, while adhering to all protection and self-protection measures.

Over the past two days, information has emerged about the re-establishment of public transport in the Sarajevo Canton, although no decision has been made yet. The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Mario Nenadić, was the first to mention this, and today it was confirmed by GRAS that they will conduct a test run without passengers on Monday.

The Commander of the Sarajevo Canton Civil Protection Headquarters, Nihada Glamoč, confirmed to Patria that no decision has been made. She confirmed that the headquarters has received some initiatives regarding certain measures, but will not issue any orders that contradict the orders of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters.

Some cantonal civil protection headquarters have already made decisions that contradict the still-valid orders of the Federal Headquarters, thus further liberalizing movement for those over 65 and under 18, and announcing the opening of craft businesses, hairdressing, and beauty salons from May 4, as is the case in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
