Derby Olimpija-Maribor also cancelled in Slovenia: Refugee crisis continues

Police of the Slovenian city of Novo Mesto announced that a new group of refugees is arriving at the location of Rigonce, near the border crossing with Croatia Harmica/Rigonce, crossing the green border, and arrived by train which, according to data from Croatian authorities, carried 1,339 migrants, reports the Patria news agency.

During the night into Saturday, about 4,200 migrants entered Slovenia from Croatia via the green border, Slovenian police announced this morning. The largest number of migrants entered the area of Rigonce near the Harmica border crossing, where they were brought by train late Friday evening.

Incidentally, due to security reasons, the football match Olimpija-Maribor, the derby of the Slovenian championship, was postponed in Ljubljana because all police officers and stewards who were supposed to secure the match are engaged in monitoring the migrant flow, and the Slovenian army is increasingly involved in this process.

Early this morning, 2,000 migrants entered Austria from Šentilj, and Austria continues to receive those housed in camps in northern Slovenia. To speed up the crossing process between Slovenian and Austrian police, it was agreed to open another "entry point," the one in Jesenice, from where refugees will depart by train.
