(Patria) - A unique exhibition of the Srebrenica Memorial Center has opened at the UN headquarters in New York.
This exhibition, which includes artifacts, photographs, and video testimonies of survivors, is extremely important for preserving the memory of the genocide victims and raising awareness about the genocide.
"Great effort and dedication have been invested to make this exhibition a reality, and we are extremely proud of our team that has worked tirelessly on this project. We sincerely thank the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the UN for their support and assistance in enabling this significant event. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this historic moment," stated the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
The exhibition also features photographs by Armin Durgut titled "Mrtvare" (Morgue). These are shoes that were distributed to the people of Srebrenica, and they were actually shoes worn by the deceased for funerals. These shoes of the murdered Srebrenica victims were found in mass graves, as well as along the Death March route.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Mothers of Srebrenica, Ambassador Zlatko Lagumdžija, and numerous guests.
