Sarajevo to host Taekwondo World Championship for Cadets: 1,000 guests from 76 countries to visit the capital of BiH

(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the World Taekwondo Championship for Cadets from August 28 to 31. Over 1000 competitors from 76 countries will visit the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina to compete for medals in the Olympic taekwondo sport.

This is the second major competition organized by the Taekwondo Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina after the "European multi games" competition held in May this year, and after the World Championship, the Bosnia and Herzegovina G1 Open tournament will be held.

The Chairman of the Presidency of the Taekwondo Association of BiH, Samir Šarić, expressed satisfaction with the preparations for organizing this extremely demanding competition, which is a confirmation of the excellent work and trust that the association enjoys from the leaders of the World Taekwondo Federation.

“I must emphasize that we are satisfied despite all the challenges we had in the preparations for this competition. Bringing any World-class competition to our country is demanding, and when we talk about Olympic taekwondo, which is also the sport in which we have the best results in the history of the Olympic Games, we see how big of a deal it actually is.

The fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina was awarded the hosting of this competition ahead of Cancun, Mexico, a prestigious tourist destination, speaks volumes about the trust the World Taekwondo Federation has in the work of our association,” Šarić stated.

The Taekwondo Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina is considered one of the most organized in the entire country, with the organizational aspect for Olympic taekwondo sport, led by Šarić, behind everything.

“We must be aware that sport is the best ambassador of a country. We constantly travel the world and lobby for the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the organization of major competitions. Because of this competition, over 1000 guests from 76 countries are coming to Sarajevo. Many of them would not have heard of us in any other way than through sport.

And after such events, most of them leave with beautiful memories and later return to our country as tourists. That is the power of sport and the power of the Taekwondo Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Šarić was categorical.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by 16 competitors at this event, and good results in the past give us reason to hope for new medals. The competition will be held in the arena of the Hills hotel, and admission for spectators is free.

“We are constantly investing in our athletes, coaches, and infrastructure. We know that investing in the present is the recipe for success in the future. We follow our competitors from the youngest age and we want new Nedžad Husićs. Competitions like this are an opportunity for young people to showcase themselves, and we are happy that the Association's work has made it possible for them,” Samir Šarić concluded.
