Hundreds of citizens in Sarajevo in protest march in support of Palestine

(Patria) - Hundreds of citizens participated today in Sarajevo in a protest march in support of Palestine due to the continuous brutal Israeli attacks in Gaza as well as in the occupied West Bank.

The International Organization for Development (IOD) stated that the reason for the gathering was the continuous violation of basic human rights and the increasingly frequent and brutal attacks on the civilian population of Palestine, including journalists, medical staff, and civil defense personnel.

The gathering of participants began at Sebilj, from where they arrived at the Square of the Children of Sarajevo with a protest march, where the final rally was subsequently held.

Waving Palestinian and BiH flags, the march participants also carried various signs with messages of support and solidarity with Palestine and condemnation of Israeli attacks.

"You cannot burn the truth", "Yesterday Bosnia, today Gaza", were some of the messages from the banners carried by the attendees along with a unfurled large Palestinian flag.

A humanitarian bazaar was also organized at the Square of the Children of Sarajevo in cooperation with the initiative "Carry for Palestine", and all collected funds will be directed to aid the people of Gaza.

"With this peaceful and dignified march, the citizens of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina want to send a clear and strong message once again: condemnation of disproportionate crimes, bombings and killings of innocent civilians and children, and solidarity with the people of Palestine", stated the organizers.

More than 51,200 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the brutal Israeli attack since October 2023, the majority of whom are women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also facing a genocide lawsuit before the International Court of Justice.
