Promotion of the book 'Patriotic League in the Birth of the Miracle of Bosnian Resistance' in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The promotion of the book "Patriotic League in the Birth of the Miracle of Bosnian Resistance" will be held today at 18:00 in the Multimedia Hall of the Sarajevo Memorial Center.

As stated by the Organizing Committee, it is about shedding light on the events in the year leading up to and the first year of the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The promoters of the book are the president of the SUB "Patriotic League" in BiH, Sulejman Vranj, the book editor Kemal Balihodžić, retired general Džemal Merdan, retired brigadier Atif Šaronić, and scientific associate at the Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Sci. Amir Kliko.

The book "Patriotic League in the Birth of the Miracle of Bosnian Resistance" was published as a joint publishing project of the SUB Patriotic League in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the SUB Patriotic League of the municipalities of the Central Bosnia Canton.

The work deals with a period from the recent past - the years 1991-1992, about which little has been written. Therefore, this promotion has attracted significant public attention.

In preparation and collaboration, more than 30 authors prepared and contributed texts, photographs, and documents for publication. The book contains over 140 photographs and documents on 355 pages.



One part is dedicated to the Consultation of Regional Commanders of the Patriotic League, held in Travnik on February 7 and 8, 1992, and another part to shedding light on the situation by regions of BiH during that period.

The text of the Directive for the Defense of the Sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adopted at this Consultation, which is still relevant today, has been published.

Disintegration forces acting on the instructions of Belgrade and Zagreb, as they did in 1991-1992, are still clearly recognizable today, only the characters change, and they are even more supplemented.

At that time, Bosnia and Herzegovina was a limited space and a polygon with the largest number of soldiers and military equipment in Europe after World War II.

Great skill is evident in avoiding frequent provocations and a military coup. The book abounds in nurturing and affirming patriotic, universal civilizational, millennial values of BiH.

Also, texts about the activities of patriotic forces in defense by regions, as well as activities in the formation and emergence of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been published.

With this book, an additional step has been taken in nurturing the culture of remembrance of the days of defense when Bosnia and Herzegovina was exposed to brutal aggression.
