
(Patria) - The 28th anniversary of the second Markale massacre, which occurred on this day in 1995, was marked in Sarajevo today.
Five shells were fired from positions of the Army of Republika Srpska at the time, killing 43 and wounding 84 people.
The commemoration of the massacre began with a minute of silence for the victims and the playing of the national anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The names of those killed in the massacre were also read: Omer Ajanović, Hidajet Alić, Salko Alić, Zeno Bašević, Husein Baktašević, Sevda Brkan-Kruščica, Vera Brutus-Đukić, Halida Cepić, Paša Crnčalo, Mejra Cocalić, Razija Čolić, Esad Čoranbegić, Dario Dlouhi, Salko Duraković, Alija Dževlan, Najla Fazlić, Rijad Garbo, Ibrahim Hajvaz, Meho Herceglić, Jasmina Hodžić, Hajrudin Hozo, Jusuf Hašimbegović, Adnan Ibrahimagić, Ilija Karanović, Mesudija Kerović, Vehid Komar, Muhamed Kukić, Mirsad Kovačević, Hašim Kurtović, Ismet Klarić, Masija Lončar, Osman Mahmutović, Senad Muratović, Goran Poturković, Blaženka Smoljan, Hamid Smajlhodžić, Hajro Šatrović, Samir Topuzović, Hamza Tunović, Ajdin Vukotić, Sabaheta Vukotić, Meho Zećo and Narima Žig.
Flowers were laid at the site of the massacre on Mula-Mustafe Bašeskije Street at number 64 (northern entrance to the City Market) by the families of the victims, a delegation of the Sarajevo Canton, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović, and numerous other delegations.
