Consultations and Presentation of Criminal Law Analysis on Genocide Denial in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The Srebrenica Memorial Center will today in Sarajevo, with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom, organize open consultations and the presentation of a criminal law analysis of genocide denial, as well as guidelines for reporting genocide denial.

This event will bring together legal experts, representatives of the international community, and organizations dealing with the research of genocide and the denial of historical facts.

The goal is to present legal frameworks, analyze the current application of laws, and discuss the challenges in prosecuting genocide denial in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event is being realized within the framework of the Srebrenica Memorial Center's Self-Sustainability Project, supported by the Government of the United Kingdom with the aim of strengthening the Center's capacities, developing financial sustainability strategies, and improving legal mechanisms for confronting genocide denial.

Open consultations and the presentation of the criminal law analysis of genocide denial will be held at the "Swissotel" hotel in Sarajevo, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

Statements for the media are scheduled for 12:45 PM, and the Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center Emir Suljagić, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to BiH Julian Reilly, and criminal law expert Almir Maljević will address the journalists.
