(Patria) - The 25th new Sarajevo tram was delivered to Sarajevo last night, completing the delivery of Stadler trams.
Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta, along with GRAS director Senad Mujagić and representatives of the Ministry of Transport, attended the delivery of the last tram.
“They were purchased with the money of all citizens of our canton. This is a common victory for every person who loves this city, considering that the last purchase of new trams was before the Olympics, more than 40 years ago. From day one, we all knew that the procurement of vehicles was necessary. It was challenging to start these processes, but we succeeded. We did not pay attention to obstacles because we had a goal - better quality public transport. We initiated the first, and then the second procurement of new vehicles,” stated Minister Šteta.
The first Stadler tram arrived on December 14, 2023, and the contract for the purchase of an additional 10 trams, in addition to the 15 previously ordered, was signed in it. And all of them are in Sarajevo today. Deliveries were made on time.
Symbolically, that first tram, 001, took tram 025 to the depot last night.
“Let's take care of all our vehicles and may they last. Thank you to every person who was part of this project. Thank you to all the citizens of our canton. Thank you to everyone who believed in me, our team, and the decisions we made for the benefit of Sarajevo. Because of all of us, we are riding in new vehicles today,” concluded Minister Šteta.
