New 34 coronavirus cases in RS, 155 infected in total

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Out of 176 tested coronavirus samples in Republika Srpska, 34 are positive, meaning the total number of infected in RS is 155, said Minister of Health Alen Šeranić at a press conference. Among them are three doctors, and health institutions will act according to the orders.

"We tried to increase the testing capacity, but we will continue to look for individuals who could potentially be positive. 22 people are from Banja Luka, 4 from Teslić, two from Laktaši and Prnjavor, and one person each from Prijedor, Bijeljina, Kotor Varoš, and Modriča," Šeranić said.

The trend of positive coronavirus cases is moving within those local communities where we previously had positive individuals.

"Most of these individuals were in direct contact with an infected person; we have family clusters appearing," Šeranić said.

There are 27 people at UKC RS, two are on ventilators and have chronic illnesses.

There are problems with heating and hot water in the Student Center where coronavirus patients are accommodated, but Minister Šeranić said that everything will be done as soon as possible to improve the conditions.

The minister said that 3,000 tests will arrive on Monday, and then more tests will arrive successively.

"We have a wider team working on procurement, and we expect new deliveries of tests. But we also need reagents, and we are looking to procure valid tests," Šeranić said.
