22 new cases of infection in Republika Srpska

(Patria) - Since the last report on the epidemiological situation in Republika Srpska, in the last 24 hours, testing of 638 laboratory samples has been carried out at the Institute of Public Health of Republika Srpska, and the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been confirmed in another 22 people in Republika Srpska.

These are 14 males and eight females. One male is younger, four males are middle-aged, and nine males are older. Four women are middle-aged, and four are older.

By place of residence, eight people are from Banja Luka, two people are from Doboj, and one person each from Bosanska Gradiška, Kozarska Dubica, Krupa na Uni, Laktaši, Istočno Sarajevo, Šipovo, Derventa, Kneževo, Foča, Kalinovik, Šamac, and Nevesinje.

Seven people were determined to be close contacts of individuals with previously confirmed coronavirus, while for the others, a clear epidemiological link to a positive case could not be established.

A total of 12 people residing and working in homes for the elderly from Modriča, Kneževo, and Banja Luka were tested, and the new coronavirus was confirmed in one employee of a home for the elderly in Kneževo, where positive cases were previously confirmed.

Within active surveillance in the past 24 hours, 93 healthcare workers from Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Teslić, Derventa, Doboj, Laktaši, Gradiška, Kozarska Dubica, Trebinje, Mrkonjić Grad, Zvornik, Ugljevik, Kotor Varoš, Prnjavor, and Istočno Sarajevo were also tested, and their results are negative.

Also, a total of 121 people from local quarantine facilities or isolation facilities were tested, and those results are also negative.

So far, 842 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Republika Srpska, 35 people have died from COVID 19, and 381 people have recovered.

A total of 13,664 tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) have been performed in Republika Srpska to date.

A total of 128 people with confirmed or suspected coronavirus are being treated at the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska. There are 43 patients with severe clinical conditions hospitalized in the COVID 19 Department, while nine patients are in isolation.

Five patients require respiratory support, and two people are on non-invasive mechanical ventilation. The Surgery Department (old UKC location) has 14 patients with mild to moderate clinical forms, and the Pulmonology Department (old UKC location) has 55 patients with mild to moderate clinical forms.

Six patients with COVID 19 disease are being treated at the "Sveti Apostol Luka" Hospital in Doboj, 12 people at the General Hospital Trebinje, two at the "Srbija" Hospital in Istočno Sarajevo, five patients at the "Doktor Mladen Stojanović" Hospital in Prijedor, and four patients at the University Hospital in Foča.

Regarding isolation facilities housing individuals with confirmed positive tests for the new coronavirus who do not have COVID-19 symptoms, there are 117 people at the "Nikola Tesla" Student Center in Banja Luka, 23 at the Student Dormitory in Trebinje, one person at the Student Dormitory Bijeljina, and two people at the Student Center Zvornik. There are no individuals housed in isolation facilities in Istočno Sarajevo, Pale, and Foča.

A total of 3,604 people are currently under health supervision in Republika Srpska, and supervision has been completed for 24,750 people.

A total of 201 people entered Republika Srpska through seven border crossings in 24 hours, 203 people left quarantine and were sent to local quarantines in municipalities, and currently, a total of 15 people are in quarantine at seven border crossings.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Republika Srpska once again reminds citizens to strictly adhere to the prescribed measures in order to suppress the spread of the new coronavirus.
