Among the world's microsurgical centers: Sarajevo doctors successfully replanted a thumb

Sarajevo doctors have successfully completed a highly sophisticated thumb replantation surgery, placing the Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the University Clinical Center Sarajevo among the very top world microsurgical, medical, centers.

The surgery was performed on a patient from Vitez, after he was transported to the Clinic for Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo.

The highly sophisticated surgical procedure was performed by Dr. Vanis Dujso and Mr. Sci. Dr. Goran Obradović, anesthesiologist Dr. Lejla Dreca, anesthetist Alma Gagula, instrument technician Nermin Begić, and technician Danijel Grcić.

It took Sarajevo doctors about 180 minutes to complete this highly sophisticated surgical procedure, writes NAP.
