Poem about the Bosnian White Martyr performed in a full BKC hall

(Patria) - Organized by the Association of Ilmijja of the Islamic Community (IC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Tuzla Muftiship, the Poem about the Bosnian White Martyr was performed tonight at the Bosnian Cultural Center (BKC) in Tuzla.

The full large hall of BKC was attended by members of the martyrs' families, members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tuzla Mufti Dr. Vahid-ef. Fazlović, President of the Association of Ilmijja Nesib-ef. Hadžić, ministers in the Government of Tuzla Canton, chief imams and presidents of majlises, and numerous guests.

Mufti Fazlović thanked the Association of Ilmijja of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the opportunity that on Martyrs' Day, in Tuzla, for the first time after the premiere in Sarajevo, "we can attend the performance of the Poem about the Bosnian White Martyr."

"It is a great contribution of the Association of Ilmijja that through the Poem about the White Martyr, about the martyr with the ahmedija, respect and recognition were expressed, on behalf of our entire people, to the imam martyrs, but also to all our martyrs. Because the Bosnian ulema, together with their congregations, stood in the most honorable rank of defending the din of Islam, the land and the homeland, honor and freedom. In the protected zone of Srebrenica alone, twenty-seven imam martyrs laid down their lives," emphasized Mufti Fazlović.

Mufti Fazlović reminded that a person with the status of a martyr in Islam holds a high and honorable place.

"Due to his willingness to voluntarily and without coercion sacrifice his own life for the sake of Allah Almighty, defending the lives of the innocent, his and their faith, home and homeland, freedom and honor, the martyr, according to Islamic teachings, is attributed special values and rewards. Since the martyr was ready to give up life in this world on the Right Path, in the name of Almighty God, for his righteous struggle and sacrifice, a high and lasting reward awaits him in the Hereafter," said Mufti Fazlović.

In the memory of Bosniaks, Mufti Fazlović emphasized, the sacrifice that martyrs endured over the past centuries, embedding themselves in the foundations of the state and its survival, is deeply engraved. That great sacrifice was invested in a struggle of inexpressible proportions for the survival of our people in these areas, during dark times of persecution and attempts to remove us from the wider Balkan region.

"In the tradition of our people, martyrs are perceived as a pledge and guarantee of our survival due to the magnitude and sanctity of their sacrifice and the blood with which our homeland is soaked. Therefore, Bosnian Muslims have developed a culture of remembrance of their unique role at every place where martyrs are buried, simultaneously strengthening their own self-confidence," emphasized Mufti Fazlović.
