5th Basketball Cup of the Royal Town Starts on Friday

(Patria) - As part of the celebration of the Day of Jajce Municipality, which has been celebrated on February 22 since 2014, on the date of the first written mention of the town of Jajce in 1396 in a Charter from the Dubrovnik archive, the 5th Basketball Cup of the Royal Town for boys born in 2005 and younger will be officially opened in Jajce.

In one place, through a three-day gathering, spectators and basketball fans will have the opportunity to see over 120 of the most talented boys who will show what they do best when it comes to basketball.

"Regarding the organization, we can start the tournament, the teams are arriving on Friday. Of course, a long weekend awaits us organizers, a basketball show with 14 games over the weekend. That's not a small number for spectators, and of course, they will be treated to the most beautiful children's basketball in the region," say the organizers.

Year after year, the desire of the people in the Basketball Club "Vodopad" Jajce is to provide an opportunity for children to compete and play with the best, as well as for the Jajce public to watch the best teams from BiH and the region.

Last year's tournament winner, OKK "Spars Realway", will have a very difficult task if they want to retain their dominance in one of the best and strongest tournaments in BiH and beyond. In Group A, OKK "Spars Realway" Sarajevo, KK "Sava" Belgrade, KK "Cedevita Olimpija" Ljubljana, and HKK "Zrinjski" Mostar will compete. In addition to the tournament hosts KK "Vodopad" Jajce, Group B will also include KK "Cedevita Junior" Zagreb, KK "Budućnost" Bijeljina, and FKSE "Szekszárd".

The first game is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2020, at 4 PM, and it will feature OKK "Spars Realway" and HKK "Zrinjski". The official opening of the tournament is scheduled for 7 PM with a game between the hosts KK "Vodopad" and KK "Budućnost". The final match is planned for two days later. This tournament is being held in the Jajce City Hall, and the organizer of the tournament is KK "Vodopad" in cooperation with the Municipality of Jajce and numerous sponsors.
