Reconstruction and modernisation of Zetra to begin in November

(Patria) - At the beginning of next month, works on the reconstruction and modernisation of the "Juan Antonio Samaranch" sports hall will begin.

This year, 3.5 million KM has been allocated for the first phase of the project.

Minister of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton Zlatko Mijatović visited this location yesterday and emphasised that the goal is to significantly improve the current state and return Zetra to sports.

Let us recall, the Zetra sports centre is part of the KJKP ZOI '84, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton.

- At the beginning of November, works will begin on one of the most significant segments of this project, which is the installation of a new sports floor, which will primarily improve conditions for training and holding sports competitions.

There is also a planned section for an indoor athletics track, which will make training easier for athletes during the winter months.

In Zetra, besides daily sports activities, concerts and fair activities are occasionally held, and to protect the new sports floor during such events, a protective cover is also being procured - Mijatović stated.

In addition, according to his words, the installation of electrically operated partition curtains is of exceptional importance, which will open the possibility of dividing the hall into five separate sections when necessary.

Various sports activities will be able to take place in them simultaneously, and the efficiency of heating during the winter months will also be significantly increased.

After the mentioned works, the replacement and upgrade of internal and external lighting and the modernisation of IT and security systems will follow.

The first phase of this project also includes the procurement and installation of LED scoreboards, renovation of locker rooms, sanitary facilities and corridors, and renovation of entrance areas with a reception desk.

- In the period ahead of us, our goal is to make Zetra competitive and revive this Olympic complex, both with innovative and unique content and by increasing the number of visitors.
