Football Federation of BiH concerned about developments in Football Federation of RS

(Patria) - The Legal Committee of the FA of BiH at its session held on 17.12.2019, considered the Information on the Conclusion of the Republican Administration for Inspection Affairs dated 13.12.2019, submitted by the Football Federation of Republika Srpska.

Mile Kovačević has been relieved of his duties as president of the Football Federation of Republika Srpska. He was relieved of his duties at yesterday's extraordinary session of the FA RS in Banja Luka. 44 out of 55 delegates attended the session, and 42 delegates were required for a quorum. All attendees voted for his dismissal.

He held this position from November 30, 2007, succeeding Milan Jelić, who passed away suddenly. Dušan Marković, the former vice-president, will temporarily hold the position of president of the FA RS.

At this session, the Legal Committee of the FA of BiH confirmed that on 21.08.2019, it submitted its Opinion regarding the possibility of convening an Extraordinary Assembly of the Football Federation of Republika Srpska, and the issue of voting on confidence or no confidence in the president of the FA RS.

"Regarding the considered Information on the Conclusion of the Republican Administration for Inspection Affairs, the Legal Committee of the FA of BiH is of the opinion that it is not competent to assess the validity or correctness of the aforementioned Conclusion.

In relation to the aforementioned Conclusion of the Republican Administration for Inspection Affairs, the Legal Committee of the FA of BiH expresses concern about the potential consequences that members of the FA of BiH or the FA of BiH could face when resolving disputed situations or implementing any internal procedures, when it is carried out with the intervention of public authorities, given that the aforementioned procedure is contrary to the positive legal regulations of FIFA, UEFA, and the FA of BiH," the FA of BiH announced.
