Regular annual training of the ZDK Cantonal Civil Protection Staff held in Neum

(Patria) - The Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) organized a regular annual training for members of the Cantonal Civil Protection Staff (KŠCZ) in Neum.

The training topic was "Communication in Crisis Situations: Clear, Fast and Coordinated," and the lecturer was Umihana Krličević Omerović from the marketing and PR agency "Conversa."

The workshop focused on communication within the KŠCZ, communication with cities and municipalities, and particularly communication with the media, as an important channel for civil protection structures to communicate with the public.

The workshop identified potential risks that could lead to communication chaos in crisis situations.

Director of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration and Chief of the KŠCZ Džavid Aličić emphasized that creating panic in situations of natural and other disasters is very dangerous.

Therefore, as he stated, the priority is for the intervention of civil protection structures to be accompanied by accurate and reliable information that citizens will trust, so that they themselves can take all necessary actions to save lives and material goods.

- We particularly focused on communication with the media, because it is important for us that timely and correct information reaches our population in a timely manner, in order to prevent potential consequences and prevent the spread of panic among our citizens - said Aličić.

Lecturer Umihana Krličević-Omerović pointed out that the training participants were very proactive, especially during practical exercises.

The training was also attended by the Minister of Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection Adnan Šabani, in his capacity as commander of the KŠCZ, who also emphasized the importance of crisis communication, which is why this topic has been covered for the third consecutive year.

- We had very good interaction and good practical exercises. I believe that this kind of training will yield good results in the field and that communication itself will improve in practice - said Šabani.

With such trainings, the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration aims to further enhance the competencies of the KŠCZ, and such educational sessions are regularly organized for all rescue services operating within the civil protection structures in this canton.
