Next week second heatwave, take necessary sun protection measures outdoors

(Patria) - Meteorologist Nedim Sladić has announced extremely high temperatures for next week, as well as the occurrence of warm nights, especially from Wednesday, July 10.

"The lack of freshness will be present both day and night, so sleeping will be more difficult again. Given that for at least five consecutive days the average daily air temperature deviates by more than 5 °C, conditions are met for the second heatwave of this summer.

Daily air temperature values are mostly in the range of 35 to 41 °C, similar to the past 5 to 10 years. The period will also be accompanied by sultriness," Sladić stated.

Given that the Peace March is taking place this week with thousands of participants, and on July 11 the commemoration and burial of genocide victims in Potočari with the presence of several thousand attendees, additional measures need to be taken due to the forecast heat.

"Given that Srebrenica falls in this period, it is not a bad idea to consider more water stations and provide shelters from direct strong sun for the Mothers and visitors during the hottest part of the day, as the relevant authorities and meteorological institutes will certainly issue a series of guidelines related to this heatwave in the coming days," Sladić stated.

A slight drop in air temperature is possible around mid-July. A stronger cooling is not likely in the foreseeable period.
