BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs Does Not Know the Difference Between the EU Council and the Council of Europe!

(Patria) - "Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković participates on 18 February 2025 in an informal meeting of ministers for European affairs (GAK) in Warsaw, Republic of Poland", was announced by this state institution.

And then an incredible stupidity followed, writes politicki.ba.

"Within the framework of the Polish presidency of the Council of Europe, the Minister for European Union of Poland, Adam Szlapka, is organising an informal meeting where the main topic will be an exchange of views regarding the fight against hybrid attacks and finding adequate solutions and countermeasures, as well as the need for further building a common vision of the future through establishing closer foundations and deeper cooperation between the European Union and the countries of the Western Balkans," reads the text of the official statement issued by the cabinet of Minister Konaković.

Poland, however, DOES NOT PRESIDE over the Council of Europe! Poland presides over the Council of the European Union.

And the difference is enormous!

At least in the cabinet of Minister Elmedin Konaković, they should know the difference between the Council of Europe and the Council of the European Union!

"The meeting in Warsaw will be attended by all ministers for European affairs of the European Union member states and ministers for foreign and European affairs of candidate countries, and bilateral meetings on the margins of the GAC are also expected."

Incidentally, the practice of foreign ministers of candidate countries for EU accession attending GAK meetings is not new.

This is a relatively common practice.

EU meetings with candidate countries are also attended by heads of state or government of non-EU member states, as well as relevant ministers, depending on the topic of the gathering.
