(Patria) - The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina coordinated a second meeting to discuss the landslide problem in the municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo, which threatens buildings and the population in Širokača.
The focus of the meeting was on implementing necessary urgent measures to prevent the spread of the landslide, which involve clearing three springs that have been buried and building a water drainage system.
Given that the landslide is located on the territory of the Republika Srpska, while the affected population is in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting proposed the most efficient way to proceed with these works as soon as possible, in accordance with legal regulations and jurisdictions.
The meeting also discussed current activities and measures that need to be taken for further remediation of this landslide.
In addition to representatives of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting was attended by representatives of the municipalities of Stari Grad and Istočni Stari Grad, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the Sarajevo Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, the Federal Civil Protection Administration, and the Civil Protection Administration of the Republika Srpska.
