(Patria) - The Mayor of Livno, Darko Čondrić, has issued a decision declaring Monday, August 5, a Day of Mourning in Livno due to the tragic death of two young men, Antonio and Josip Maganić, from drowning in Lake Mandak.
On the Day of Mourning, flags will be flown at half-mast on the flagpoles in front of the Livno City Administration building, King Tomislav Square, and on the buildings of public institutions and establishments, the City of Livno announced.
No entertainment, cultural-artistic, or sports events will be held in the Livno area, and electronic media in the Livno area are obliged to adjust their program content.
We recall that members of the Livno Police Station responded to a report that two male persons were drowning in Lake Mandek near Livno, who were later identified as brothers.
As stated, the first to enter the lake was an eighteen-year-old, who immediately began to drown. His older brother tried to save him, but as both were poor swimmers, they soon disappeared into the lake.
Other bathers pulled the younger brother out of the lake first, and a little later the older one.
Shortly after, members of the Livno Police Department and the Emergency Medical Service of the Livno Health Center arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance, i.e., resuscitation to the two young men.
They were then transported to the County Hospital in Livno, where assistance continued, and were then referred to the University Clinical Hospital Mostar for further treatment, where they later died.
