32nd anniversary of the Battle for Famos marked in Hrasnica

(Patria) - By laying flowers and reciting Fatiha in Lasica, and then at the memorial in front of the House of Culture in Hrasnica and the Kovači cemetery, the 32nd anniversary of the Battle for Famos was marked, in which 26 members of the then 104th Motorized Brigade, and later the Fourth Vitez Motorized Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, lost their lives for the defense of the homeland.

Members of the families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, their comrades, friends, neighbors, members of veterans' associations and political parties remembered the exceptionally significant battle for the free territories of Ilidža in a dignified manner again this year.

A delegation of the Municipality of Ilidža, led by the President of the Municipal Council Ilidža, Tarik Stambolić, also paid tribute to the martyrs and fallen soldiers.

- Believe me, it is not easy to address you all here today. The bravest paid for our freedom with their lives, we are here today because of them, we walk freely because of them, and we will certainly not forget them - said the President of the Municipal Council Ilidža, Tarik Stambolić.

The President of the Municipal Council Ilidža emphasized that just a few days ago, the largest square in Sarajevo Canton was named after the Fourth Vitez Motorized Brigade, that it will soon be adorned with a new memorial, and that this is another way to show respect to the Fourth Vitez Motorized Brigade, all its members, and especially the martyrs and fallen soldiers.

With a fitting cultural and historical program, in which participants included children from the Amel and Nur kindergartens, and actor Mirza Mušija, all attendees were once again reminded of the importance of the battle that took place on this day exactly 32 years ago.

In the Battle for Famos, the following lost their lives for the defense of the homeland: Ferid Kahvić - Ferkonja, Safet Toković - Poštar, Nihad Merdžanić - Zecko, Ibrahim Memić - Turbo, Asim Bašić - Drica, Nedžad Ibrahimović - Nećko, Mirsad Bećirović - Mica, Mustafa Isanović, Jasminko Pamuk, Murat Letić, Ibrahim Handžić, Mušan Džemidžić, Vahidin Kapo, Silvio Ivanić, Ferid Kicara, Muhidin Vatrić, Mehmed Andelija, Senad Gušić, Esad Salihović, Almir Avdić, Enes Alić, Miralem Hrnjica, Zorica Lerotić, Mehemed Džaltur, Bećir Muhić and Amir Bećirović.
