
(Patria) - Due to the triple murder in Sanski Most, the Government of the Federation of BiH declared Monday, August 26, a Day of Mourning.
"The day of the burial of the last victim of the tragic crime at the Mixed Secondary School Sanski Most, August 26, 2024, is declared a Day of Mourning in the Federation of BiH", stated the decision of the entity government, adopted at the session on August 23.
The Day of Mourning is marked by the mandatory flying of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, or on the flagpole, at the buildings of legislative, executive, and judicial authorities, public institutions, organizations, and other legal entities in the Federation of BiH.
Three people were killed on Wednesday, August 21, in a shooting at a secondary school center in Sanski Most, while the attacker was seriously injured while attempting suicide.
The attacker fired an automatic rifle at three employees of the Gymnasium, and the killed were the principal, the secretary, and an English teacher.
The suspect in the triple murder is an employee of the secondary school center in Sanski Most.
The Government of the Federation of BiH will, as stated in the announcement, through the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, recommend that on the first day of the school year in all primary and secondary schools in the Federation of BiH, a minute of silence be observed in honor of the victims.
Three days of mourning were declared in the municipality of Sanski Most, while the Day of Mourning in the Una-Sana Canton was observed on Friday, August 23.
