May 1 and 2 are non-working days in the Federation of BiH on the occasion of International Labour Day

(Patria) - The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy announced that May 1 - Labour Day is celebrated for two days, namely May 1 and 2.

This is in accordance with the Law on Holidays, which applies as a federal law based on the Decree with the force of law on the adoption and application of federal laws, i.e., the Law on Confirmation of Decrees with the force of law.

Accordingly, the non-working days in the FBiH are Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2, announced the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.

The announcement notes that the Ministry does not determine or prescribe non-working days, but rather implements the law and informs the public about the application of legal solutions that clearly define when non-working days are based on holidays.

"We call on employers to respect the law and the rights of workers, and to enable the use of non-working days in accordance with valid regulations.

We remind you that the provisions of Article 76 of the Labour Law stipulate that an employee is entitled to increased wages for working on a holiday or another day for which the law stipulates that work is not performed, in accordance with the collective agreement, internal rules of procedure, and employment contract," the statement added.
