Body of 9-month-old baby found in the Drina, ten victims of migrant boat capsizing

(Patria) - Members of the Serbian Ministry of Interior, searching the Drina in the Ljubovija area where a boat carrying migrants capsized, have also found the body of a baby, while the police of Republika Srpska pulled the body of another male from the river, reports Nova.rs.

- The search of the area, which has been ongoing intensively since last night, led members of the Ministry of Interior today at around 3:30 PM, in the place of Lonjin, near the shore, to find the lifeless body of a baby aged about nine months.

She is, unfortunately, the tenth victim of the capsizing of a boat carrying irregular migrants who tried to cross the river from Serbia between the places of Drlače near Ljubovija and Orlica in the municipality of Zvornik - said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dačić.

The baby was with its mother, whose body was pulled from the Drina earlier today.

Members of the Serbian Ministry of Interior have so far pulled out the bodies of six men, a woman and a baby, while members of the Republika Srpska police have found the bodies of two men. The search continues.
