
Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority temporarily seized 1,800 packs of cigarettes at the Hum border crossing, writes the Patria News Agency.
Officials of the ITA in the Regional Center Sarajevo, in cooperation with colleagues from the BiH Border Police, carried out a detailed inspection of a "Centrotrans" bus from East Sarajevo and found cigarettes that were located in a "hidden space", i.e., under the floor of the bus luggage compartment.
- A total of 1,800 packs of cigarettes were involved: 450 packs of Marlboro Light, 500 packs of Bond, 50 packs of B&B, 320 packs of Trokadero, and 480 packs of FM. The cigarettes that were attempted to be smuggled into BiH were temporarily seized, and authorized officials of the ITA have filed a request for the initiation of misdemeanor proceedings before the competent court against the person who attempted to illegally import cigarettes into BiH - it was announced from the ITA.
In the coming period, ITA officials will continue to carry out enhanced controls at all border crossings in BiH.
