Eid al-Fitr celebrated at the Bosnian House in Birmingham with a rich program

(Patria) - A celebration of Eid al-Fitr was held yesterday at the Bosnian House in Birmingham, organized by BH UK Network and the Bosnian Association Birmingham, under the auspices of the Honorary Consulate of BiH for the Midlands region.

This significant event brought together members and friends of the BiH community of all generations, as well as representatives of local authorities, once again confirming the importance of the Bosnian House as a place of meeting, togetherness, and openness.

The program was hosted by high school seniors from the BiH supplementary school, Harun Zlomužica and Mae Fawzi, who guided attendees through the evening's content in an exceptionally beautiful and dignified manner.



The program began with a recitation from the Quran, followed by rich cultural and religious content, including ilahijas (religious songs) and recitations.

The program featured performances by high school seniors and students from the Birmingham supplementary school, as well as the youngest members of the community who are yet to start their schooling, which gave the event a special warmth and symbolism of the future.

The honorary consul and executive director of BH UK Network, Anes Cerić, addressed the attendees, emphasizing that the Bosnian House is not just a building, but a place where different cultures meet and where everyone is part of one community.



He highlighted that over 900 people passed through the Bosnian House during Ramadan, confirming its significance as a center of community and solidarity.

He also stated the importance of representing our community authentically and expressed gratitude to the pioneers who laid the foundation for today's strong and organized community.

The imam of the Bosnian mosque in Birmingham, Azhar ef. Gazibegović, emphasized that Eid comes as the culmination of the month of Ramadan and a reminder of the values of patience, solidarity, and care for others.



He pointed out that Eid is a time for forgiveness, strengthening family and friendly ties, and an opportunity to open our hearts to each other, especially to those most in need, urging attendees to continue living these values after Ramadan.

The children's performance brought special joy, and the program concluded with the distribution of Eid gifts to the youngest attendees, a group photo, and socializing over a traditional Eid spread.



This Eid, the Bosnian House once again confirmed its role as a place that brings people together, builds bridges between communities, and preserves identity, tradition, and values for future generations.
