(Patria) - A civil protest is being held in front of the Police Administration in Bijeljina due to the detention of Bijeljina Mayor Ljubiša Petrović, writes RTV BN.
SDS President Milan Miličević, Ljubiša Petrović's wife and mother have entered the Police Administration.
"We are seeking an explanation for Petrović's detention by the police. There is no doubt that this is a settling of scores with dissidents. We insist on Petrović's release, this is the dismantling of the opposition and the greatest opposition leader," stated Mirjana Orašanin, SDS MP in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
Petrović was detained at the police station for an investigation into the scholarship award process in 2023 and 2024.
A citizens' protest was also held last night in front of the police station.
The protest is attended by Petrović's closest associates, party colleagues, and a large number of citizens...
"A call to all honest citizens to join us in the fight against the criminal octopus," announced the SDS Bijeljina City Board.
