Army Day of the RBiH Marked in Bihać: A Moral and Dignified Army That Defended Its Own and Did Not Wage War Against the Innocent

(Patria) - Bihać Mufti Hafiz Mehmed-ef. Kudić attended the ceremonial academy marking the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized by the Ministry for Veterans and War Veterans with Disabilities of the Una-Sana Canton, held at the "Adil Bešić" barracks in Bihać.

In addition to Mufti Kudić, the academy was addressed by the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ružnić, the Speaker of the Assembly, Nisvet Jusić, and the Minister for Veterans and War Veterans with Disabilities, Almir Zulić.

A fitting speech on the significance of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the defense of the homeland was given by Brigadier Mirsad Selmanović, wartime chief of staff of the Fifth Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Speaking about the role of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mufti Kudić emphasized its moral and defensive character.

- We will always repeat: The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not commit crimes, did not destroy others' places of worship, did not kill women, children, the elderly, or prisoners - Mufti Kudić stated.

In the continuation of his address, he thanked its members for defending the country and preserving the fundamental values of society.

- Dear members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, you defended us from aggression and protected our children, parents, and property, and for that, we extend our great human thanks.

But we especially thank you for preserving our honor and presenting yourselves to the world as a brave and courageous army, but also as a moral and dignified army that defended its own and did not wage war against the innocent - Mufti Kudić emphasized.

He particularly highlighted the significance of the Fifth Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- When we speak of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we cannot but speak of the Fifth Corps, a symbol of resistance, pride, and unwavering struggle - Kudić emphasized.

He added that the Fifth Corps, besides defending the territory, also defended the fundamental values of freedom and dignity.

- The Fifth Corps, in addition to defending the territory of the Bosanska Krajina region, defended the idea of not accepting humiliation, not giving up on freedom, and not surrendering what is sacred: honor, dignity, and the right to exist - said Mufti Kudić.

Speaking about contemporary challenges, he warned against attempts at revisionism.

- This is an opportunity to send a message to advocates of revisionism that we will forever treat innocent commanders and soldiers, whom they seek to link with dishonorable acts, as our heroes and our pride - Mufti Kudić stated.

The Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ružnić, emphasized that the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the only legitimate and legal military force in the territory of the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that through its actions, it preserved the honor of patriots and the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Nisvet Jusić, pointed out the importance of opposing the policy of revisionism and preserving the culture of remembrance, while Minister Almir Zulić spoke about the Ministry's activities in caring for the population associated with the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as efforts to ensure a dignified life for its members and their families.

The wartime chief of staff of the Fifth Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brigadier Mirsad Selmanović, reflected on the significance of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the attitude towards its achievements.

- The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the only legal and legitimate army in the territory of our homeland - Brigadier Selmanović emphasized.

Speaking about challenges to its character, he stressed his personal and professional stance.

- It bothers me immensely when someone says 'the so-called Army of the RBiH.' I am not 'so-called,' and the army I commanded is not 'so-called,' given that the Army of the RBiH was formed by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then an internationally recognized state. All other formations were illegal and can be called 'so-called' - Selmanović said.

He also reflected on the activities of the Fifth Corps during and after the war.

- What I am extremely proud of is that no member of the Fifth Corps went to The Hague and that all investigations related to the Fifth Corps ended at the pre-investigation stage, which speaks to the honor and purity of our struggle - concluded Brigadier Selmanović.
