Government of Una-Sana Canton met in Bihać

(Patria) - The Government of the Una-Sana Canton met in Bihać today.

At the suggestion of Damir Omerdić, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Primary and General Secondary Education was considered. Namely, due to the extraordinary situation in the Una-Sana Canton, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, based on the Order of the Crisis Staff of the Una-Sana Canton, issued an Order suspending educational work in all primary schools, secondary schools, higher education institutions, and adult education institutions in the Una-Sana Canton, and all gatherings in educational institutions were prohibited. This created the need to ensure the continuation of the educational process outside of educational institutions at adjusted times and durations, and it is necessary to amend the Law on Primary and General Secondary Education.

The proposed amendment to the Law enables the holding of classes in extraordinary and other circumstances where it is not possible to conduct classes in the standard form, scope, and location. The Law on Primary and General Secondary Education does not provide for the possibility of conducting classes in an adapted manner in extraordinary situations when it is not possible to conduct classes in the standard form, scope, and location, which is currently the case due to the declaration of a state of emergency in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The amendment to the Law would ensure the possibility for the Minister of Education to adapt the educational process to the conditions on the ground, i.e., to ensure the educational process in extraordinary and other circumstances.

Nermina Ćemalović, Minister of Health, Labour and Social Policy, explained the Proposal for a Decision on a Special Healthcare Program with a List of Approved Medicines.

- The Ministry proposes the adoption of a new decision because there is a need to make the current long-standing practice of approving medicines by special approval of the Commission for Treatment outside the Canton and the Director of the Institute more transparent. By publishing this decision in the Official Gazette of the USC, all insured persons in the Canton will be informed about the List, the procedure, and the way to exercise their right to medicines on the List by special approval. The final proposal of the decision was determined by the Commission for Medicines of the Ministry of Health, as well as the Health Council at the Ministry, in order to provide more transparent, efficient, and continuous healthcare, says Dr. Ćemalović.

The Cantonal Government also considered the Information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USC on the state of juvenile delinquency in the Una-Sana Canton for 2019, and the Report on the Work of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry for 2019.
