Five-Year-Old Girl from Germany, Victim of International Human Trafficking, Located and Sheltered in BiH

(Patria) - A prosecutor from the Department for Smuggling of People and Human Trafficking of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH coordinated activities in cooperation with the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of BiH and the Border Police of BiH, who, during the control of goods and passengers on a regular bus line at the Brod border crossing, through detailed analyses discovered and identified a victim of international human trafficking.

The identified victim is a five-year-old girl who was accompanied by a foreign national, who, by order of the acting prosecutor, was detained at the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of BiH, and the victim, in accordance with judicial guidelines for the protection of victims of human trafficking, was adequately sheltered and placed in a safe house.

The victim was assigned a special guardian for foreign children without accompaniment and victims of child trafficking.

The aforementioned girl is in the database of searches for persons sought by international institutions, and the acting prosecutor is in constant communication with the competent prosecutor's office and police in Wiesbaden, Germany, and activities are being undertaken to return the child to her mother.
