High Temperatures, Thunderstorms and Strong Winds Expected in BiH Today

(Patria) - Mostly sunny weather with little to moderate cloudiness in most of Bosnia and Herzegovina this morning. Rain was recorded in central and northeastern parts of Bosnia.

Air temperatures at 8 AM (°C) were: Bjelašnica 16; Sokolac 18; Bihać, Bugojno, Zvornik 19; Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Široki Brijeg, Tuzla, Zenica 20; Mostar, Trebinje 26; Neum 30.

Atmospheric pressure in Sarajevo is 944 hPa, 1 hPa lower than normal and slowly rising, announced the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute.

Today, sunny weather with little to moderate cloudiness will prevail in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Rain in northeastern Bosnia in the morning. In the afternoon and during the night, local showers are expected in Bosnia, with thunderstorms in some places.

Strong thunderstorms are possible in the northern parts of Bosnia towards the end of the day and in the evening.

Wind light to moderate in western parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina southwest, and in the rest of the country north and northeast. Daily temperatures from 28 to 34, up to 38 °C in the south.

In Sarajevo, sunny with little to moderate cloudiness. Local showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon. Daily temperature around 33 °C.

Orange meteoalarm is activated for most of the country. Citizens are advised to be prepared for severe thunderstorms and to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

The Institute also notes that property and trees may be damaged, sudden floods, strong to stormy winds, and hail may occur, as well as disruptions in transport and outdoor activities.
