The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a total of 309 diplomatic passports in 2013, the Patria News Agency has confirmed with the ministry. According to the Rulebook on Issuing Diplomatic Passports and Visas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the functions and holders of the right to a diplomatic passport are precisely listed.
- All passports were issued in accordance with the Rulebook on Issuing Diplomatic Passports and Visas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina – stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
According to the aforementioned Rulebook, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has the discretionary right to grant a diplomatic passport. However, during the term of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Zlatko Lagumdžija, this discretionary right was exercised only once.
- Based on the minister's discretionary right, a diplomatic passport was issued to the UNICEF ambassador and famous BiH footballer Edin Džeko – added the MFA.
