TK Prosecutor's Office: Nail Jusić Arrested, Items Used for Committing Criminal Offenses Seized During Searches

(Patria) - By order of the TK Prosecutor's Office and with a warrant from the Municipal Court in Živinice, investigators from the Criminal Police Sector of the MUP TK conducted searches at several locations in Živinice today. Following the searches, Nail Jusić, the President of the Živinice City Council, was deprived of his liberty, the Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton announced.

Searches were conducted at his family home, weekend house, and auxiliary facilities in Živinice, in offices at the City Council and the Health Center in Živinice – which Jusić uses as Assistant Director for Nursing – and searches were also carried out on two cars he uses.

During the searches, certain items suspected of being used in the commission of criminal offenses were found and seized.

Jusić is suspected of committing two criminal offenses as the President of the Živinice City Council: abuse of position and authority in conjunction with receiving a reward or other benefit for trading in influence. Three actions for which Jusić is suspected in the current course of the investigation relate to certain irregularities during the appointment of secretaries in the permanent commissions of the City Council, including his son, as well as an attempt to obtain a benefit for a person to acquire ownership rights to land on which a building was constructed without the right of use.

After the criminal processing, investigators from the Criminal Police Sector will hand over the suspect to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office.

The acting prosecutor will question him regarding the circumstances of the investigation, after which a decision will be made on further measures and actions to be taken against the suspect Jusić.
