Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office seeks custody for Elvis Selimović: Fatally shot brother Eldin with at least seven automatic rifle shots

(Patria) - The Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office has submitted a proposal to the judge for preliminary proceedings at the Cantonal Court of Tuzla to order custody for Elvis Selimović (44) from Tuzla due to the existence of grounded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of murder.

Selimović is suspected of firing at least seven shots from an automatic rifle at his brother Eldin in their family home in the Miladije neighborhood of Tuzla in the late evening hours of May 2, 2026, inflicting multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, abdomen, arms, and legs, and fatally killing him.

The murder was preceded by a verbal dispute the brothers had earlier in the day at another location in Tuzla.

An investigation at the scene was conducted by the duty prosecutor in cooperation with investigators from the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton.

Police investigators located and arrested the suspect in the early morning hours of May 3.

Following criminal processing, Selimović was handed over to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office.

The acting prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation and questioned the suspect.

All necessary expert examinations and investigative actions are underway to determine all circumstances that led to the murder.
