Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed an indictment against 12 individuals and six legal entities, charged with money laundering

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed an indictment on December 25 against 12 individuals and six legal entities, who are accused of, in the period from 2017 to 2024, for the purpose of acquiring illegal property gains, placing large sums of money, which they knew originated from the commission of criminal acts of organized crime and unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs - cocaine from the area of South America to the territory of Europe, into legal financial flows, through regular business activities of several legal entities, as well as through the purchase and construction of real estate, and the purchase and so-called "mining" of cryptocurrencies.

The accused, as users of the encrypted SKY ECC application, made mutual agreements regarding the commission of criminal acts.

Money totaling over 6,000,000 BAM was transferred across the border to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina on several occasions, hidden in vehicles and in other ways, after which it was placed into regular financial flows through activities carried out by the accused. The Prosecutor's Office of BiH and partner institutions have blocked and temporarily seized several properties, vehicles, items of great value, as well as cryptocurrencies. The accused are charged with the criminal acts of Organized Crime under Article 250 in connection with the criminal act of Money Laundering under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
