(Patria) - Israeli tourists staying at Hotel Hills in Ilidža had their passports thrown in the trash by hotel staff, confirmed for Istraga by security agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a result, they will remain stranded in BiH for over a week until the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues new documents for them.
A total of 47 Israeli tourists have been stranded in BiH after their passports were accidentally thrown into a trash can at the hotel reception, according to passengers who spoke to Israeli media Ynet News.
Among the tourists whose documents were thrown away, there are also citizens of other countries.
The group was supposed to return to Israel on Saturday but could not board the flight and are forced to stay at the hotel until replacement documents are secured.
Their problem is being addressed by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy in Belgrade.
