
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Mehmet Tinko, born in 1956 in the Turkish city of Kilis, a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, who is in custody.
The indictment of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH charges Tinko that during the month of May 2019, with the intention of gaining personal material benefit, in agreement with a third person on the territory of Turkey, he organized and arranged the reception of three citizens of Turkey, and the citizens of that country did not meet the conditions for legal entry and stay in Germany, or the countries of the European Union, to which country they intended to travel, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH stated.
The accused, for a monetary compensation, had the task of accommodating the Turkish citizens in Sarajevo upon their arrival in BiH and ensuring their further illegal crossing of the state border of BiH into Germany, or EU countries, in which he was discovered and prevented by authorized officials of the Border Police of BiH.
The accused is charged with having undertaken actions that created conditions for the direct commission of a criminal offense prescribed by the law of BiH, for which a prison sentence of three years or a heavier penalty can be imposed, thereby committing the criminal offense of preparation of a criminal offense under Article 248 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption filed an indictment against Dalibor Milinković, born in 1991 in Trebinje, a citizen of BiH.
The accused is charged that, contrary to Article 6 of the Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air, supplementing the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, during May of this year, with the aim of acquiring illegal property gain, he participated in the illegal transport of illegal migrants who did not meet the legal conditions for arrival and stay in BiH.
He is charged with having, with his motor vehicle, near the border with Montenegro, picked up eight citizens of Syria, including a child born in 2016, as well as one minor, and transported them towards the north of BiH, to be discovered and prevented at the location of Tjentište by members of the Border Police of BiH.
The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offense of smuggling of persons under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
Both indictments have been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
