(Patria) - The Cantonal Committee (KO) of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) of Tuzla Canton (TK) announced tonight that Denijal Tulumović and Šefik Husić, against whom an indictment was recently confirmed, are stepping down from party positions until the conclusion of court proceedings.
Tulumović is an SDA representative in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Husić is the president of the SDA Councilors' Club in the Tuzla City Council. Additionally, the two are presidents of the SDA city committees in Živinice and Tuzla.
"Following discussions and consultations, their statements on stepping down from the mentioned party positions until the conclusion of court proceedings have been accepted," the SDA TK Cantonal Committee stated.
The named individuals, the statement adds, stated in their declarations that they did not commit the acts they are charged with, but, taking into account the interests, public perception, and preservation of the SDA's reputation, they made the decision to temporarily step down from the positions of presidents of the city committees.
"Instead of the current presidents of the SDA city committees of Tuzla and Živinice, other persons from the leadership of these city committees have been designated to perform the duties of president until the conclusion of the aforementioned proceedings.
The SDA TK Cantonal Committee emphasizes the Party's commitment to respecting the principles of legality, political responsibility, and preserving public trust in its work," the statement adds.
