(Patria) - President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that the United States "wants to help China, not harm it," adopting a conciliatory tone days after threatening additional 100 percent tariffs on the world's second-largest economy, AFP reported.
"The US wants to help China, not harm it!!!", Trump wrote in a post on his social media network Truth Social, adding that "respected President Xi (Jinping)... does not want depression for his country".
Trump said on Friday that he would impose additional tariffs, which are set to take effect on November 1, in response to what he called "extraordinarily aggressive" new Chinese restrictions on rare earth mineral exports.
