(Patria) - US President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that Iran should not charge fees for the passage of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, TASS reported.
"There are reports that Iran is charging fees to tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz. They had better not, and if they do, they had better stop immediately!", he wrote on his Truth Social network.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt stated on April 8 that the United States opposes Iran charging fees to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but that the idea of Washington and Tehran doing so together will be considered in the next two weeks.
