Trojka ousts Party of BiH from Sarajevo Canton Government, ZNG to join with support from Lemez and Hodžić

The parties of the "Trojka" (People and Justice, SDP, and Our Party) have begun talks with the Movement for New Generations (ZNG) about reconstructing the Sarajevo Canton Government, from which they wish to exclude the Party of BiH.

After Admela Hodžić left the Party of BiH, and Redžo Lemezan left Our Party, they formed a club in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly together with Damir Marjanović (ZNG) and became a negotiating factor with three votes.

Therefore, the Trojka parties have 17 deputies – NIP 7, SDP 6, Our Party 4 – and with these three additional votes, they would have a majority of 20 deputies, which is sufficient to dismiss the ministers from SBiH and confirm new ministers and make decisions.

Incidentally, the Movement for New Generations issued a statement on July 14th criticizing the work of the Sarajevo Canton Government, stating that they have not justified their appointment as a whole, despite the efforts of some ministers.

"It is evident that the current ruling majority has had certain poor personnel solutions, so the idea of reconstructing the Sarajevo Canton Government, with or without ZNG, is the only logical solution," stated ZNG.

As Patrija was told by sources close to the Trojka, a joint statement from the Trojka and ZNG on the reconstruction of the Sarajevo Canton Government is expected on Friday.

Although there were sparks between SDP BiH and ZNG after the election of delegates to the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, because Zlatko Miletić was elected as a delegate and not the SDP candidate, it seems they have "buried the hatchet" for the sake of reconstructing the Sarajevo Canton Government.

What is currently unknown is whether there will be a rotation of other positions, i.e., whether only the positions of Minister of Finance and Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction, and Environmental Protection will be filled, or if the political parties will agree on other changes to ministerial positions.

We remind you that NIP currently holds four ministries in the government, SDP also four, Our Party two and the Prime Minister, and SBiH holds two ministerial positions.

The process of reconstructing the Sarajevo Canton Government, if the Trojka and ZNG, or the three deputies Marjanović, Hodžić, and Lemezan, manage to reach an agreement, is expected at the end of August due to compliance with legal deadlines for the work of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
