BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Members of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Jelena Trivić, Draško Stanivuković and Nebojša Vukanović called on the Mayor of Banja Luka Igor Radojičić to join the citizens' gathering tonight in the "Mladen Stojanović" park and explain to the citizens of Banja Luka the case of toxic pyralene leakage in the "Incel" business zone.
"We thank the City Administration for finally addressing this ecological disaster. Before we asked this question, citizens were deprived of any information, just as there was no announcement about the brutal arrests in Banja Luka. However, many questions remain unanswered. Were the firefighters warned about the health-hazardous area they were entering? Did they receive instructions on how to behave after extinguishing the fire? Was there a session of the crisis headquarters on this occasion, as there was in the case of floods? Where is the session of the City Assembly on this occasion? Where are the instructions for the people who extinguished the fire? Where are the checks of their health status? Where are the instructions for the people working within the Incel premises? Where are the warnings about the use of water and food for the residents living in the immediate vicinity of Incel? Where is the sealing of the contaminated zone? If pyralene was known, who allowed the storage of wood chips in the immediate vicinity? Did the wood chips contaminated with pyralene burn in the Eco-heating plant? That is why we call on the mayor to explain this case and answer these questions to the citizens tonight at the rally," said Trivić.
She added that the three MPs would gladly give the mayor space to explain everything that interests the citizens and that they would have his full support.
"Mayor Radojičić is the mayor of all citizens, regardless of their political stance. Everyone is endangered by pyralene – members of the ruling parties, the opposition, the undecided, and minors. Instead of exchanging accusations in the media, we offer him to stand before the people and answer all the questions that concern them," Trivić emphasized.
She announced that she, along with Vukanović and Stanivuković, will visit the "Incel" business zone next week.
"Our invitation to the mayor stands for that visit as well. The issue is too serious to be covered up and to divide us into government and opposition. We all have our responsibility to the citizens in accordance with our competences – some to ask questions, others to solve the problem. Therefore, let the mayor also take his responsibility," she concluded.
